An Introduction to Portugal
Portugal is one of the most beautiful, vibrant and versatile countries in the world. It is filled with colour, greenery, music and great food. Portuguese cuisine is brimming with flavour. Contrary to popular belief, Portuguese cuisine is far much more than peri peri chicken. Portugal is famous for some delicious dishes such as alentejo pork. This is made from Black Iberian pigs, who, similarly to Kobe beef, develop a layer of fat that helps to create a deliciously moist meat. Their staple diet of acorns makes for a delicious flavour and the meat is typically cooked confit style.
